IS MY PICK FOR THE BEST ALBUM EVER. IT IS TRULY A MASTERPIECE. THO NO LONGER THAN 40 MINUTES LONG, THIS ALBUM PACKS A PUNCH AND SHOULD BE HEARD BY EVERYONE. FLESHTONE IS KELIS'S 5TH STUDIO ALBUM AND WAS RELEASED ON MAY 14, 2010. THO MORE THAN A YEAR OLD IT IS STILL THE BEST ALBUM I HAVE EVER HEARD. A LOT OF PEOPLE BLOCKED KELIS AWAY SINCE SHE HAD BEEN GONE FOR LIKE 4 YEARS BUT ITS THEIR LOSS CUZ THEY ARE MISSING OUT ON TRUE ART. THE ALBUM WAS RECORDED WHILE KELIS WAS AN UNSIGNED ARTIST. SHE WAS ALSO PREGNATE AT THE TIME AND GOING THROUGHT A DIVORCE WITH HER EX HUSBAND NAS. THE ALBUM FOR THE MOST PART IS AN ODE TO MOTHERHOOD AND WAS ALSO INFLUENCED BY THE WHOLE DIVORCE. THIS ALBUM MARKED KELIS'S DEPARTURE FROM URBAN SOUND INTO AN ELECTRO POP VIBE. SHE WORKED WITH TONS OF DANCE MUSIC PRODUCERS INCLUDING DAVID GUETTA, WILL.I.AM, JEAN BAPTISTE, BENNY BENASI, AND OTHERS.THE FIRST SINGLE OFF THE ALBUM WAS 'ACAPELLA'. ACAPELLA REACHED GREAT SUCCES TOPPING THE U.S. AND U.K. DANCE CHARTS.IT ALSO REACHED THE TOP TEN IN MAINSTREAM EUROPE.THE SONG WAS AN ODE TO HER SON WHO WASN'T BORN AT THE TIME. SHE STATES "BEFORE YOU, MY WHOLE LIFE WAS ACAPELLA" AS IN BEFORE HER SON IT WAS JUST HER ON HER OWN, THIS TRACK WAS PRODUCED BY DAVID GUETTA. FLESHTONE IS SO GOOD THAT FROM IT CAME MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SONG TITTLED "4TH OF JULY (FIREWORKS)". THIS SONG IS AMAZING IT WAS BEAUTIFULY WRITTEN AND HAS AN AMAZING BEAT. INSPIRATION FOR THIS SONG CAME FROM THE GAYS, BY THAT I MEAN HER LARGE HOMOSEXUAL FAN BASE THAT HAS BEEN WITH HER FROM THE BEGINNING OF HER CAREER. THE SINGLE REACHED #4 ON U.S. DANCE CHARTS AND #6 ON U.K. DANCE CHARTS. THE VIDEO IS AMAZING, HAVE A LOOK FOR YOURSELF. Watch "Kelis - 4th Of July (Fireworks)" on YouTube NEXT SINGLE RELEASED WAS SCREAM, WHICH WAS ALSO PRODUCED BY DAVID GUETTA. KELIS FILMED A 3D VERSION OF THIS VIDEO. THIS SINGLE DIDN'T HAVE AS MUCH SUCCES AS THE OTHER TWO. NEXT CAME 'BRAVE' WHICH IS MY SECOND FAVORITE SONG ON THE ALBUM. THIS SONG HAS AN AMAZING MESSAGE AND THE LYRICS CAME FROM WITHIN HER. "I WAS SO YOUNG, I'll NEVER GET THAT BACK" MY PERSONAL INTERPRITATION OF THE SONG IS THAT IT WAS WRITTEN TO EXPRESS THE STRUGGLES FACED WITH HER FAILED MARRIAGE AND HER DIVORCE. "IT WAS CRAZY, HAD A BABY, HE'S AMAZING, HE SAVED ME, AND THIS TIME ITS JUST US" SHE MAKES IT CLEAR THAT HER SON IS HER SALVATION. THE ALBUM HAS 9 TRACKS THEIRS THE INTRO, 22ND CENTURY,4TH OF JULY, HOME, ACAPELLA, SCREAM, EMANCIPATE, BRAVE AND SONG FOR THE BABY. THE ALBUM DIDN'T SELL MUCH, I BLAME THE LACK OF ADVERTISING HER LABEL DID. SHE RELEASED IT THROUGH THE WILL.I.AM. BRANCH OF INTERSCOPE RECORD. I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE ALBUM UNTIL I HEARD ACAPELLA. ANOTHER REASON WHY I THINK IT DIDN'T SELL IS BECAUSE PEOPLE WHERE AFRAID OF THE DIRECTION SHE TOOK THIS ALBUM IN BUT SERIOUSLY IF YOU'RE A FAN OF DANCE MUSIC AND DON'T OWN THIS ALBUM THEN YOU'RE NOT A FAN OF DANCE MUSIC. THIS ALBUM WAS SO GOOD THAT I BAUGHT THE PROMOTIONAL COPIES OF EACH SINGLE AND THE REMIX PROMO FOR 4TH OF JULY. I EVEN BAUGHT THE JAPENESSE VERSION OF THE ALBUM, THAT'S HOW GOOD IT IS. KELIS BECAME MY FAVORITE ARTIST BECAUSE OF THIS ALBUM AND MEETING HER IS ON TOP OF MY BUCKET LIST. THE ALBUM IS ON ITUNES AMAZON AND SOME STORES IN THE U.S., I'VE SEEN IT AT BEST BUY. MAKE SURE YOU GET IT, YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED. LONG LIVE "FLESHTONE" THE BEST ALBUM EVER MADE.
